History
Christ Nagar College of Education is an institution under the CMI (Carmelites of Mary Immaculate) Congregation which has rendered its
service to the field of education for over 150 years. The CMI Fathers at Christ Hall Monastery, Kaudiar, Thiruvananthapuram are the members
of the Governing Body. The College follows a policy strictly in accordance with the course charted out by the CMI Congregation in tune with
the great educational ideas propounded by the Congregation’s founding fathers, particularly the Saint Kuriakose Elias Chavara. The
congregation views education as integral to the development of the human person and to the fulfillment of one’s individual and social
responsibilities. The aim is towards forming teachers who are intellectually competent, spiritually mature, morally upright, psychologically
integrated, physically healthy, socially acceptable, God loving and who will champion the cause of justice , love, truth and peace and who are
always open to further growth.
The College started functioning during the academic year 2005-'06. There are five optional subjects provided (English, Mathematics, Physical Science,
Natural Science and Social Science) with a strength of 20 students in each subject. Special attention is given for the overall development of the
student teachers. An all-around excellence in all areas of teaching– learning process is the ultimate goal of Christ Nagar College of Education.
Situated at a beautiful hillock in the midst of lush green surroundings, the College provides an ideal environment for educational activities and
programmes. With its clear educational vision, Christ Nagar College of Education is a torch bearer to the uncompromising spirit of truthfulness
and in the multifarious aspects of teaching and leadership.
